Sorry. I tend to assume others know more than me about this stuff. Spambots sign up on the forum with alarming frequency (almost another 100 of them since I originally posted this), despite so-called countermeasures to stop them. If I allowed new signups to automatically post on the forum, it would be awash in spam content. I therefore have to manually authorize/approve any new member.
