The final pieces belong to an old, grumpy collector named Dave.
Cadence believes she has found the perfect trick. Dave has not seen his niece since she was a teenager 18+, and Cadence bears a strong resemblance to her. Confident in her acting skills, she visits Dave pretending to be the long-lost relative returning for a sentimental reunion.
At first, the plan seems to work.
When the film begins, Cadence is seated across from Dave (seen from Dave’s POV). She speaks confidently, suggesting that the valuable artifacts in his collection would be much safer if kept in her own home. Dave thanks her politely but refuses to part with his precious objects—even for his beloved niece.
Realizing persuasion will not work, Cadence’s tone turns cold. She warns him that unfortunate accidents can happen to valuable possessions… and to their owners. As she places a hand on her bag—clearly preparing to pull out something dangerous—she believes she has the upper hand.
But she is wrong.
Before she can act, —Dave’s unseen henchman—steps in from behind. Cadence never even noticed his presence. suddenly clamps a hand over her mouth in a tight handgag and grabs her purse.
Dave calmly reveals the truth. He knew from the beginning that Cadence was an impostor. Her attempt to resemble his niece was convincing—but not convincing enough. Dave is not a harmless old collector. He is an experienced criminal boss… and Cadence has just tried to rob someone far more dangerous than herself.
The henchman quickly secures Cadence on the ground.
Her wrists and ankles are tightly tied with rope, and a cleave gag is put between her teeth and knotted behind her head. Leaving her bound and gagged on the floor, the criminals walk away and allow her to struggle alone.
Cadence refuses to give up. Determined and resourceful, she begins working the knots with her fingers. Eventually she manages to loosen the rope binding her ankles. Though her wrists remain tied behind her back, she can now stand and attempt to escape.
She staggers toward the door and manages to step outside.
Snow is falling heavily. The cold wind cuts through the air—but freedom is only a few steps away.
Then The henchman returns.
He immediately recaptures her and carries her back inside the house.
This time the criminals take no chances.
Cadence is restrained with far more rope. Multiple coils wrap tightly around her arms and chest, pinning her elbows back. Her ankles are bound again, and a rope is run from her ankles up to her wrists, putting her into a painful hogtie that leaves her completely immobilized.
After a brief moment she is ungagged, hoping to negotiate—but the criminals silence her again almost immediately, sealing her mouth with tight duct tape.
Now Cadence understands.
They are not calling the police.
They want something from her.
Despite the pain, she continues trying to escape, struggling desperately against the ropes—but this time the ropework is far too secure.
Later the criminals change her position. Cadence is untied from the hogtie only to be retied to a chair, still helpless.
Dave makes her an offer.
They will release her—but only if she reveals the location of the entire collection of stolen artifacts she has gathered over the years.
For Cadence it is an impossible dilemma.
Reveal everything and hope they keep their word… or refuse and face whatever fate these criminals have planned.
Eventually she makes her choice.
But the moment the words leave her mouth, Cadence begins to fear she has made a terrible mistake.
