1. From Humble Beginnings

    I don't think any of us feel entirely comfortable buying via the Internet from a website that seems to spring up overnight, and may disappear just as quickly. Well, Beauties in Bondage may be fairly new, but the people behind it have been selling "adult" material on the Internet for almost 5 years. My name is David North, and in May 2005 I started a website called Bound2Burst - just Goggle the name and you'll find it right away.

    B2B is largely about women who are desperate to pee and can't get to a bathroom in time. It's one of my two fetishes. The other is bondage. In my naivety, I decided to incorporate both of these themes into one website. Some people do really like this, but a lot have written over the years to say "I love the female desperation but I don't like to see girls in bondage", or "I love bondage but I don't like to see girls peeing themselves." Most of the long-time followers of Bound2Burst have learned to tolerate bondage in some of my movies, but they still sometimes remark that they wish it wasn't there at all. Well, too late to change that now since the two combined have a following. I have steadily reduced the amount of bondage on Bound2Burst (since the majority of B2B customers prefer it that way), but I didn't want it to ever disappear completely. I mean, I love it!

    Last autumn, while wondering how to solve this problem, it occurred to me that I could start a second website which exclusively featured bondage. Most of the B2B models were more than happy to do pure bondage movies, so I already had a ready-made retinue of attractive women to populate the new site. The problem, which is the same one that hits all of us as soon as we think of taking up something new, was the potential expense. I pay models $100 per hour for their time, plus travel money since most of them have to cover a fair distance when they work with us. With Bound2Burst, I basically ran up credit card debts to buy the first camera ($3,000), pay for the first three shoots and buy clothing for the models. It was a big risk, but as my wife said at the time (she has been amazing about all of this, right from the start), "We've been in debt before and baled ourselves out, so if we have to we can do it again." As luck would have it, we didn't have to. Bound2Burst movies started selling almost at once, and after a few months we were making enough to cover model fees and clothing for the next shoot or two. It was hand to mouth, and it didn't even make a dent in the debt created by buying the camera, but it looked promising. Now, Bound2Burst sustains itself and, to a large extent, is paying for Beauties in Bondage while it builds a following, always assuming that it will!

    In most cases, we piggy-back on a Bound2Burst shoot and get a model to do an extra movie or two which is bondage only. This means one less movie each week for Bound2Burst, and it does have an impact on revenue, but I'm hoping that Beauties will eventually pay it's own way. It is doing quite well on Clips4Sale, but not that many people are buying from this website. Hardly surprising of course; C4S has been in business for a long time and people know where they are with them. Moreover, we had a bit of a rocky start since we initially took payments through PayPal, which most people recognize, but then PayPal shut us down (not as a result of our pee desperation website, but because of Beauties in Bondage - they never noticed all those movie titles about peeing, but they pounced on a simple, non-nudity bondage movie called "Bad Secretary". Go figure!) Now we use Dreamhost's Files Forever system. Dreamhost has hosted Bound2Burst for nearly five years and we trust them implicitly, although it never occurred to me to make use of their Files Forever system to automate the download process, at least not until finding a new solution for accepting payments became imperative. Alas, not many people know anything about Dreamhost, so they get a little nervous about giving their credit card information. It's understandable. Even some of the long-time Bound2Burst customers were a little uncertain at first, but they're getting used to it now. We've been operating the payments and downloads through Dreamhost since late January 2010, and so far no one has complained about anything. If anyone does ever have a problem though, I'll make sure it gets fixed.

2. Not hardcore

    I've had a few inquiries from people asking about nude bondage and torture bondage. Sorry guys but I'm more vanilla flavor! The models are all clothed, although occasionally you see a breast peeking out - when tied up, the model can't exactly pop her boob back in her dress if it happens to slip out. They don't mind this little bit of exposure (indeed, a few of them do hardcore work with other companies), but I will limit Beauties in Bondage to that. I frankly grew weary of bondage sites where the model's breasts are hanging out, or she always has her mouth stuffed with a ball gag (which distorts the face so much!). These are common themes, but I have always preferred to see bound girls in somewhat realistic situations and dressed in nice clothes. Naked bodies are basically all the same, but clothing can really transform a woman's appearance. Myself, I lean towards uniforms a bit (i.e., secretarial or other clerical styles). I don't do much filming of girls in ultrashort skirts since that's really just piling one fetish on top of another, a mistake I've already made with Bound2Burst. So, think of Beauties as a place for smartly dressed women in ropes, handcuffs, or zip ties.

3. Custom movies

    I've had a few people ask. I don't plan to advertise customs since B2B has taught me they are often not fun to do because of the absurd level of detail, some of which is hard to capture. That said, I will consider custom requests, but my answer will depend a lot on what you want. If it involves very specific clothing or shoes, or elaborate set-ups, then be prepared to pay since I will not foot the bill to satisfy your fantasies. A simple 10-minute bondage custom with one model will run you about $100 if you don't get too specific about what they are to wear, or the location, but if you want to dictate details and specify clothing, the price will reflect the cost of providing this.

    Before asking, please be aware that there are a lot of things I will not entertain. I will not, for example, film models in the nude, or being tortured (i.e., with electric shocks); nor will I entertain bondage/spanking videos since, usually, there is no one around to do the spanking. Tickling videos are also unlikely, unless the requested model is accompanied by a suitable escort (usually boyfriend or husband). I don't tickle the models; I am behind the camera.

    If you want a two-model tickling video, this is possible but expensive - you would be asking me to hire two models for the day (short shoots are out owing to travel time). You can expect a tickling custom with two models to cost aound $400. You cannot negotiate a lower price because what you're asking for is expensive to create, and I don't wish to foot the bill on the off-chance that it might sell enough to cover the costs. Customs, for the most part, do not sell well because they are tailored to one person's tastes. Indeed, customs are often requested because the material is not available to buy; as a rule of thumb, it's not available to buy because it tends not to sell. Almost everyone who has ever written to me at Bound2Burst to ask about a custom ends by saying, "I'm sure there are a lot of other people who would enjoy this and it will make you loads of money." I know from bitter experience that this is not true.

    You may have noticed by now that I'm a somewhat candid sort of guy. I will not mislead you about the contents of the movies I offer, or make rash promises to collect a custom fee from you and then sell you short on the end product. At the same time, I won't take any crap from the (fortunately) small fraction of people who just enjoy whining and bitching. I'll happily deal with genuine queries and complaints, but I'm not here to play silly buggers. Life's too short! If you think my attitude sucks, then feel free to go back to those sites where they shower you with extravagant superlatives about how wonderful they are.
